Official Statement of Invitation from the Center for Global Africa (CGA)
Delaware State University (DSU) and our Center for Global Africa (CGA) invite you to our first annual “Pan African Development Conference,” April 10-12, 2019 on DSU campus in Dover, Delaware. In conjunction with our strategic partner, the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) of the African Union, we will gather top academic, economic, political and media stakeholders of the Diaspora to create and strengthen functional ties with Africa through HBCU expertise and U.S. corporate partnerships.
The conference and vision of the CGA coincides with recognition of the 400-year mark (1619-2019) of the Transatlantic Slave Trade and the subsequent 21st-century need to structurally combine and apply our resources and expertise towards common ideals and institutional collaborations for mutual progress.
Among our diverse guests will be Robert “Kool” Bell of Kool & The Gang and baseball legend Dusty Baker who recently formed Kool-Baker Global Inc. to bring renewable energy projects to Africa. Samia Nkrumah will make a special presentation on the “Life and Pan African Legacy” of her father Kwame Nkrumah, Ghana’s first president.
Conference events and panel discussions with distinguished African and Diaspora experts will include: Presentations from DSU and APRM to Mobilize Diaspora Resources, Partnerships, and Business Development in Africa; Presentations from DSU, HBCUs, and Industry Experts in Energy, Agriculture, Technology and Innovation; Presentations to Utilize 21st-Century Media Platforms to Promote “Student-Driven” Pan African Initiatives; Information on joining the “Academic-Economic-Governmental Partnership” of DSU and APRM; Announcement of DSU-APRM Student Internships.
